President’s Greeting Maria Liza C. Centeno Section IX PHILIPPINES The Philippines Section is making great efforts to recruit worthy candidates to carry on the ICD legacy of service and excellence. FELLOW VIVIAN GABALDON turns over the ICD symbol rights to Fellow Bgen Reynaldo C. Torres. to search for new Fellows, who will carry on the legacy of service and excellence our founding members envisioned the Philippines Section to be. Yearly, we conduct a nation- wide search to ensure the continu- ance of this legacy. To date, we have successfully met our goals to keep Section IX strong and keen on meeting its vision. Lastly, we are proud to be part of this global community dedicated to improving and helping their respec- tive countrymen. It is gratifying to belong to an honorable organiza- tion such as the ICD, steadfast in their commitment to serve. The Philippines Section IX 50th Annual Convocation and Banquet was held January 29, 2017, at Edsa Shang-rila Hotel, Mandaluy- T he ICD Philippines Section has been serving Filipino communities for half a century now. Being true to the global motto of “Recognizing Service and the Opportunity to Serve”, the Section has engaged in numerous humanitarian projects, which has created tremendous positive impact in the lives they have touched. Continuing the tradition of service, the next half century promises to keep on helping the Filipino communities to improve not only their oral health, but also address their total well-being. With this, we hope that they will be empowered to care for their oral health and recognize that it is the gateway to total health. Tremendous effort is being ex- erted by the incumbent members ong City, with the theme “50 years of Responsive Organizational Dy- namism for Professional Excel- lence”. ICD International President Dr. Rajesh Chandna was the Guest of Honor, Keynote Speaker and Inducting Officer. Highlights of the event included the investiture of 41 new Fellows. The set of Officers for 2017, headed by Fellow Bgen Reynaldo C. Torres, were inducted. Finally, the evening was exception- ally festive with the Filipina perfor- mance of PAFSCA local talents that added glitter to the program. Business as Usual Section IX held quarterly business meetings and programs through our generous sponsor, United Lab- oratories, Inc. The First Quarterly Business Meeting was held at the CY Campos Hall Bayanihan Cen- ter, Mandaluyong City, where Rev.
