East Zone A Mega Health Camp for the Out- reach parents, their family mem- bers, neighbors and the Outreach School Children of St. Xavier’s School Ranchi was held. A total team of 28 medical specialists and eight dental specialists, 22 para- medics and nurses, and optom- etrists was involved in making the camp a huge success. A total of 853 patients were examined for general health and dental health by many specialists. Mouthwashes, tooth- paste, toothbrushes, antibiotics, multivitamins, analgesics and spec- tacles were distributed. The theme of the programs was “Tobacco, a threat to development”. The treatment largely comprised of oral prophy- laxis, restoration and extractions. A privilege card, which will facilitate them to avail all the specialty dental treatment with priority at free of cost at AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Deralakatte, was also distributed. Central Zone A diagnostic and treatment camp was organized at Godhi, Himgiri, Moradabad by ICD Section VI. The objective of this check-up camp was to examine the oral hygiene of the school children and diagnose the dental problems faced by them. Supporting the initiative was Dr. Swatantra Agarwal, ICD Fellow. A team of nine dentists provided their technical assistance for conducting the camp. A majority of the treat- ment provided was restoration and oral prophylaxis. The children were also given oral hygiene instructions. With a total of about 40 activities all over the country and a scintillating ICD Conference and Annual Con- vocation, 2017 was indeed a very remarkable year for Section VI.
