Corporate Partnership Program Grows The ICD Corporate Partnership Program continues to evolve. Two new categories of corporate partnership were introduced in 2017, Gold and Silver levels, in addition to Diamond Sponsors Henry Schein, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Modern Dental Group. To improve communication between partners and the College, all ICD Facebook postings are now sent directly to the company leaders. Company leaders are on our emailing list to ensure they receive ICD e-publications, e-newsletters and press releases. Corporate partners are also contacted quarterly with questions as to their satisfaction with the partnership. In April 2017, the College had a presence at the largest dental trade show worldwide in Cologne, Germany, at the IDS (International Dental Show). ICD connected with many companies and was fortunate to secure three new Silver Sponsors to existing Silver Sponsor Spident: Dentsply Sirona, EMS Electro Medical Systems, and Hu- Friedy. All three companies are well known within the dental profession and are based in the USA and Europe. We very much welcome these ethical companies to the ICD fold and look forward to working closely with them. We would like to get Fellows with corporate contacts involved and active, either on a local basis or via international contacts, where possible. Future strategies for fundraising will include the sale of ICD products and memorabilia, as well as the huge potential of continuing dental education programs. WELCOME TO our newest Silver Sponsors. 11 Share the Mission The ICD Global Visionary Fund (GVF or Fund) has made significant leaps in humanitarian and educational aid. The GVF is the College’s tax-advantaged, US IRS 501(c) (3) charity created for collecting and distributing funds in support of educational and humanitarian oral health care initiatives globally, especially in underdeveloped areas where oral care is most needed. Last year was tremendous for the GVF, thanks to its generous donors and supporters. In 2017, a record-breaking number of humanitarian projects were supported through the GVF – Henry Schein Cares Grant Program. The program donated over $36,000 in dental and medical supplies to many missions, including in the Fiji Islands, Kenya, Moldova, the Philippines, Singapore, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uganda. The ICD Misch Legacy Endowment (MLE) is a campaign to advance oral health care and education worldwide, in recognition of the lifetime achievements of late Fellow Dr. Carl E. Misch. Through the GVF, the MLE supports dental education by providing speakers and programs geared towards Dental Safety, Antibiotic Awareness, and other oral health care topics. The MLE jointly supported an ICD Dental Safety and Infection Control Program in Beirut, Lebanon, last December during the Section X Middle East meeting. The one-day symposium included an interactive presentation by key speaker USA Fellow Dr. Raghu Puttaiah, and 93 dental officials, faculty, students and Fellows attended. In 2018, the MLE expects to support additional dental educational initiatives. TheGVFistheworldwide, philanthropicarmoftheCollege.
