THE 2025 GLOBE
G L O B A L N E W S
In 2025, the ICD strengthened its global impact through
growth, collaboration and innovation
The College strengthened its role in addressing global oral
health issues through the launch of the Global Oral Health
Leadership Institute (GOHLI), welcoming its inaugural class and
establishing a foundation for long‑term leadership development
integrated with public-private solutions. The GOHLI will
better position leaders and changemakers to address current
and emerging health and social needs sustainably through cross-
sector collaboration.
The ICD’s Dental Student Scholarship Program also continued
its momentum, awarding $45,000 in scholarships to a record
18 dental students in 2025. Due to the program’s original
restrictions, only dental students enrolled at accredited U.S.
schools have been eligible to receive scholarships. Although
the program has these limitations, approximately 25% of its
annual scholarship recipients are non-U.S. dental students.
The College seeks to expand this recognition eligibility to
dental schools outside the U.S. and has made significant
steps toward this objective through its global campaign
and through collaboration with ICD Sections and national
dental associations.
T
his past year marked a defining period for the International College of Dentists as the organization advanced
its global mission while navigating significant structural changes and program expansion. Across both strategic
vision and operational progress, the ICD has continued working to increase its visibility and influence, modernize
its systems and elevate the value of fellowship worldwide, all while launching its first organizational capital fundraising
campaign. The three-year campaign is intended to enhance our international community of dental leaders and enable efforts
to provide humanitarian oral health care, support education and foster collaboration, while strengthening our infrastructure
to support these ambitions.
 Global programs and leadership development
Expanded grant program
The Global Visionary Fund – Henry Schein Cares grant
program is the College’s decade-long public‑private
partnership, which supports humanitarian oral health
outreach, education and social aid globally, especially in
at-risk communities with the greatest needs. The grant
program provides both cash and in-kind product grants to
vetted humanitarian initiatives involving ICD Fellows.
In 2025, the grant program provided $58,000 in cash
GOHLI leaders, participants and supporters came together for a focused and forward-looking Stakeholders’ Day.
The ICD Dental Scholarship Program awarded $45,000 to
18 outstanding dental students.
