THE 2025 GLOBE
Region 32: English Caribbean Islands
Region 32 was instrumental in providing essential dental
services to over 4,000 patients through grassroots and faith-
based collaborations. Key milestones included the inaugural
Bermuda Oral Health Symposium, organized by Fellow Joy-
ous Pickstock and a Caribbean Dental Conference focused
on inclusive care for individuals with developmental dis-
abilities. Fellows championed policy reforms in Jamaica to
improve wages and benefits for public sector dentists. These
achievements were supported by Regent Irving McKenzie’s
global representation at the World Health Organization
Meeting in Bangkok.
Region 43: Hispaniola
In Region 43, activities across the Dominican Republic and
Haiti emphasized academic leadership and pediatric out-
reach. Regent Laura Reyes-Alardo participated in forums
on the ethical integration of artificial intelligence and com-
petency-based education in health sciences.
Fellows in Haiti focused on providing pre-
ventive care to underserved youth and in-
dividuals with restricted mobility to expand
access for those facing significant treatment
barriers.

Region 21: Central America and Guatemala
Region 21 concluded 2025 with its Annual Free Oral Health
Outreach Program at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in
Guatemala. Under Regent Luis Francisco Grisolia Rodas,
the initiative provided comprehensive care to more than 600
children. Utilizing advanced technology and evidence-based
protocols, Fellows and residents delivered preventive screen-
ings, fluoride applications and restorative treatments, giving
students and residents hands-on experience in community
dentistry. This outreach was made possible through strategic
collaboration with local municipalities, charitable organiza-
tions and key institutional partners.
Region 24: Pakistan
Over 30 Pakistani delegates represented Region 24 at the
2025 Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM). During
this event, Regent Arshad Malik and Vice Regent Nauman
Khan delivered a highly praised, two-hour opening keynote
session on “Laser in dentistry.” During the Global Con-
vocation, Regent Malik introduced 12 Pakistani inductees
who were formally recognized for their exemplary contri-
butions to clinical practice, education, research and com-
munity service.
