Student leadership and member wellness The Student Leadership Program, “Empowering Student Leaders: Your Future Starts Today,” convened on Nov. 15, 2025, to develop leadership potential through proactive goal-setting and self-awareness. Workshops facilitated by Dr. Edbert P. Solano engaged students in career roadmapping, emphasizing time management and initiative. Beyond student outreach, the Section prioritized member well-being through quarterly business meetings and the “Thriving in Our Wonder Years” seminar series. These sessions addressed healthcare hacks, culinary medicine and occupational pain management to support Fellows’ health and wellness, building ca- maraderie while preparing the next gener- ation of dental professionals for leadership roles. Leadership transition begins with landmark 57th annual convocation S ection IX held its 57th Annual Convocation on Jan. 26, 2025, at the Manila Hotel, launching the term of Section President Olegario G. Clemente Jr. Global President Ian Doyle served as Inducting Officer for five new Fellows, while former Finance Secretary Margarito Teves delivered the keynote address to 86 attendees. The event featured a historic Memorandum of Understanding sign- ing with Section XI Korea, represented by Section XI Pres- ident Justin Lee and Past Global President Ho Youl Chang. This partnership was celebrated with a friendship golf tour- nament and video messages from Section VII Japan leader- ship. Additionally, Dr. Doyle visited the Section’s legacy proj- ect, ICD-Gawad Kalinga. Bridging innovation with academics The 2025 Faculty Development Program on Sept. 14, 2025, enhanced teaching skills for deans and faculty from 25 Philippine dental schools. This year featured collabora- tions with Section VII Japan, including lectures by Fellows Masashi Miyazaki on resin composite aesthetics and Hiroaki Takeuchi on lifestyle-related disease prevention. Educational leader Dr. Angelo C. Maduli presented a strategic blueprint for transformative dental education.
