SECTION HIGHLIGHTS
Expanding cross-border dental services and health missions
S
ection XII Chinese Taipei (TICD) has made signifi-
cant progress over the past year through expanded hu-
manitarian initiatives. In 2025, TICD partnered with
the Taiwan Health Co-op Organization to facilitate interna-
tional volunteer dental missions. In July, the Section spon-
sored and participated in a mission to Sri Lanka, followed by
a collaborative service trip to Nepal in August.
These outreach efforts provided comprehensive medical
support, dental care and oral health education to under-
served global communities. This dedication to international
outreach effectively bridges the gap in accessible healthcare
while reinforcing the Section’s commitment to improving
oral health outcomes worldwide.
Academic excellence and clinical advancements
The Section’s academic calendar was highlighted by the
49th Annual Scientific Meeting and General Assembly of
the Taiwan Association for Dental Sciences at the Tai-
pei International Convention Center. During the Nov. 9
session, TICD invited Dr. Reisling Cheng-Hsiang Hsu
to present a specialized lecture on the classification and
management of vertical bony defects.
The presentation provided audience members with a criti-
cal clinical perspective on navigating Simple, Challenging
and Difficult (SCD) cases, fostering high-level professional
