THE 2025 GLOBE
The seminar was honored by the presence of ICD Global
President Julio Rodriguez and ICD Global Vice President
Antonio Bello Roch, whose participation underscored
the international significance of the Section’s academic
contributions. The event attracted 50 Fellows and their
families, students, teachers and dental professionals. This
gathering facilitated a high-level exchange of expertise,
strengthening the bond between academic institutions
and the ICD. By prioritizing scholarly dialogue and the
dissemination of specialized knowledge, the Section con-
tinues to foster professional growth. These collaborative
efforts ensure that Section III remains a leader in scien-
tific advancement and dental education.
Digital education and global reach
A cornerstone of the Section’s professional development
is ICD TV, a dental education system implemented seven
years ago. Founded by Dr. Sifuentes, the platform has
delivered 82 lectures to date, averaging 500 viewers per
month. This digital initiative enables Fellows to share spe-
cialized knowledge with a global audience, ensuring that
high-level dental education remains accessible regardless
of geography. By facilitating a continu-
ous dialogue among international experts,
the platform creates a borderless class-
room where Fellows can collaborate and
stay at the forefront of clinical excellence
through real-time knowledge sharing.
Mexico expanding from clinics to classrooms
S
ection III Mexico expands its outreach under the
presidency of Dr. Luis Paras, which began in No-
vember 2024. Partnering with numerous univer-
sities, the Section provides essential dental services na-
tionwide. In the Central Regency, “Project Mexico” and
“Alianza Interuniversitaria” treated 1,096 patients from
July to December 2025. The Northcentral Regency con-
ducted 11 “Helping Brigades,” delivering food and school
supplies to 2,980 children and 130 adults, supported by
BACA association funds for vulnerable youth.
In the CDMX-Edomex Regency, medical brigades at
Malinalco’s Good Samaritan Hospital treated geriatric
and pediatric patients in January. The Southeast Regen-
cy maintained its presence in rural Merida and Cancun
through Universidad Anahuac Mayab. In the Northwest,
UABC University clinics treated orphans and children
with cancer. Additionally, the North Pacific Regency, sup-
ported by UNISON, UVizcaya, UDurango-Santander
and CEOH-Sonora, provided comprehensive care to 120
pediatric patients at Miguel Aleman Town.
Scientific exchange and academic synergy
Section III hosted the third Biennial Seminar at Uni-
versidad Anahuac Mayab under the direction of Dean
Rolando Peniche. This premier academic event featured
seven scientific lectures delivered by Fellows and focused
on advancing clinical standards throughout the region.
