1 3 (L) ICD-WUDAA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM launched in New York City on Nov. 26, 2018. (R) CENTENNIAL PARTNERSHIP On June 14, 2018, ICD signs global agreement naming Henry Schein the exclusive Centennial Partner for the 2020 Centennial celebrations in Japan. Funding and Corporate Partnerships THE COUNCIL THE GLOBE 2019 11 Corporate Partnership Program Companies dedicated to the advancement of the profes- sion of dentistry are invited to join us as Corporate Part- ners. Our partner companies then become the primary source of funding for not only the College’s Centennial symposium and supporting events, but are also promoted as major players in helping to secure the future of the Col- lege for the next 100 years. It is hoped that Corporate Partnerships will evolve from Centennial support and continue at a high level of involve- ment before, during and after the Centennial celebrations. Indeed, we have made possible the ability to create tailor- made benefit packages, including becoming part of the Di- amond Sponsorship program immediately and to continue over a three-year period. There are different levels of partnership packages, each offering an attractive portfolio, which includes emphasis on engagement with ICD Fellows, many of whom are key opinion leaders in the dental field. Our aim is to vigorously promote companies’ products and services to all Fellows around the globe leading up to and beyond the Centennial celebrations in Nagoya, Ja- pan. For more information or to discuss how our partner- ship packages are tailored to the unique needs of each company’s goals and marketing strategy, please con- tact the College Office. ICD-WUDAA Student Scholarship a Reality It is now official, the International College of Dentists has joined the Washington University Dental Alumni Asso- ciation (WUDAA) in offering annual scholarships to den- tal students starting in 2019. The ICD Global Visionary Fund recently received $124,000 in donated funds from WUDAA to underwrite the program. This program will demonstrate our concern about the high costs of dental education, and its negative impact on the career choices of graduating dentists. The role of ICD will be a joint venture between the Col- lege’s Global Visionary Fund (GVF) and the ICD USA Sec- tion Foundation (USAF). The GVF will provide the finan- cial platform required for operations of the program, while the USAF will process the screening of candidates and final selection of grant recipients. WUDAA will be involved in program administration and continued financial support. Individual Fellows and WUDAA members can play an active role in the ICD-WUDAA Scholarship Program by donating or by endorsing student applicants. The ICD- WUDAA Scholarship was launched in New York City dur- ing the Council meeting. The new scholarship program has been declared an ICD Centennial signature event embodying the spirit of ICD’s next 100 years. Special thanks are extended to ICD Past President Leon Ar- onson and ICD Fellow Bob Boyle for joining ICD and WUDAA forces. This collaboration is a great ICD “oppor- tunity to serve” together.
