Future collaboration between ICD in Egypt and the Middle East was discussed. he ICD thanks the AOIA team for its hospitality and support, which allowed for these grand events to take place, and looks forward to future collaborations. Region 29 Egypt, Sudan is of to a great start. he combination of several ICD Regions throughout Asia into a single operating group was formalized during meetings held in April 2016, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Jointly sponsoring the 2nd annual ICD Asia Paciic International Congress and Trade Show, the Regents of these Regions presented their candidates for Fellowship and spent hours in leadership meetings working out the details of future collaboration under the direction of ICD Councilor for Asia, Dato Dr. Kim Chuan How, of Malaysia. A gala dinner and initiation ceremony was the highlight of the meeting. Presiding were 2016 ICD International President Phillip Dowell, myself, and Councilor How. he ICD Asia Paciic Congress is on its way to become a major dental meeting in Asia, featuring three days of continuing education programs, attendance by 650 individuals, and more than 35 commercial vendors participating while only in its second year. Honorary ICD Fellow and Chief Guest was Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam, the Minister of Health for Malaysia. Minister Subramaniam announced he will support the development of ICD in Malaysia. here is great interest in Asia among dentists for ICD Fellowship. To understand the potential for ICD in Asia, one must realize the participating Regions in the ICD Asia Sector represent nations with a total population of 993,000,000 persons. hese nations include Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, hailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and Vietnam.
