With the joint participation led by the Southeast Regency of ICD Mexico, ICD Fellows and dental students directed by Dr. Rolando Peniche, dental care was provided to the rural communities of Mocochá, Conkal, Dzidzantún , Chumayel, Tekax, Chankom and Cuyo. Among the people that beneited from this program were the poor, elderly, pregnant women and children. heir treatment included prompt detection and removal of decay and instruction in the correct technique of brushing their teeth. More than 2,500 persons attended this year’s Communitarian Oral Health Campaign. It is important to note that the high amount of patients treated during these dental services are a direct result of our Regency’s joint eforts with the oicial Department of Health of the States of Yucatán and Quintana Roo. he Yucatan ICD Service Community dental project in the rural zones of Yucatan were performed by ICD Fellows and dental students, with the leadership of Dr. Rolando Peniche, of the South Zone Regency. Dr. Rolando Peniche is the Director of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Anahuac Mayab University and the Regent for ICD Mexico’s South Regency.
