Smith It is an honor to serve as 83rd President of the USA Section of the International College of Dentists in 2017. I would like to recognize Dr. Margaret Culotta-Norton for her outstanding year as president of the Section in 2016. he USA Section experienced several signiicant changes in January of 2017. Dr. Elaine Wagner has replaced Dr. Carol Turner as the Section Registrar. Dr. Wagner retired from the US Navy, and possesses the leadership and skill sets to continue the tradition of excellence that has been a hallmark of past registrars. Dr. Richard Galeone has retired as Editor for the USA Section. Dr. Galeone has provided the USA Section with the award-winning journal, he Key, since 2004. Dr. H. Cliton Simmons, from Nashville, Tennessee, began serving as the Editor in January of 2017. he Section will continue to challenge us to be on the search for new candidates for fellowship and retaining members by increasing opportunities to serve and stay involved in the College from induction to retirement. It is critically important to create new ways to communicate with all Fellows in the format they request. he Section is exploring ways to improve written, electronic and social media communications. All are being utilized by the Section. Our new, interactive website is www.usa-icd.org. he USA Section is attempting to collaborate with the Academy of Dentistry International on future volunteer and humanitarian symposiums. We hope to create increased service opportunities for Fellows. Past President’s Report I would like to thank the Fellows of the USA Section for entrusting me with the honor of being their President in 2016. It was a very enjoyable, busy and productive year with a stellar leadership team in place to guide our organization in the implementation of its mission and core values of Integrity, Leadership and Service. I extend a most sincere appreciation to our Oicers, Board of Regents, Vice Regents, Deputy Regents, Fellows and staf for their hard work throughout the year. Together, we inducted 306 new Fellows in Denver, and I am conident that our Section will maintain this upward trend as we continue to energize our programs. Meeting album.
