Philippines The ICD Global Visionary Fund (GVF) and Henry Schein Grant Program provided nearly $3,000 worth of dental supplies for Project Porac in Barangay, Philippines, in October 2017. A diverse group of dental, medical and countless local volunteers examined 235 patients and performed 800 procedures, mostly for the indigenous Aeta People. Leading the volunteers was USA Fellow Ed de la Vega, President of the Dentistry For Every Village Foundation. Additionally, 10 Fellows of ICD Section IX Philippines lended their services to the mission. READ MORE Moldova Philippines Moldova In May 2017, USA Fellow Burton Horwitz led a volunteer mission to perform dental treatment on underprivileged children in Chisnau, Moldova. The mission was part of an existing partnership between the University of North Carolina (UNC) Dental School and the Dental School in Moldova. The NC Moldova State Partnership program allows groups from each university to provide dental care for orphan children, while the dental students learn dental techniques. During the 10-day mission, a team of dentists and dental nurses examined over 150 patients and performed over 300 procdures. Simultaneously, the UNC and Moldovan dental students were trained on proper dental procedures and skills. Dental supplies and financial support have been given to this program by the ICD USA Section Foundation, the ICD Global Visionary Fund and Henry Schein Cares Foundation. READ MORE IMPACT!
