Chugh The Section VI had a great year with vari- ous activities happening all over the coun- try. Many sci- entific and com- munity programs took place under the guidance of President Dr. Rajesh Chandna. A brief re- port of the programs held last year follows. Board of Regents The Board of Regents of Section VI met four times this year, and dis- cussed and made decisions for all the regular administrative business. The major issue of concern for the Section continues to be the renewal and retention of membership. The Journal of ICD (JICD) is being pub- lished regularly, biannually, and is circulated free of any charges to all the Fellows of Section VI and dental institutions in the country. Kharbanda I am honored to have been asso- ciated with the International Col- lege of Dentists (India, Sri Lanka and Nepal Section-VI), which is one of the most active Sections of the ICD around the world. ICD India Section has a long history of con- tribution and service to humanity and leadership to uphold the high- est professional competence of the dentists, who are expected to pro- vide excellence in treatment with ethical values and maintain cordial relations with Fellows and in the so- ciety. As a part of humanitarianism service during this year, we have already undertaken activities to pro- mote advance skills of Fellow dental surgeons to adopt new technology. We also must continue to increase our membership by nominating Section VI INDIA, SRI LANKA, NEPAL Section VI continues to make an impact on the oral health and educational needs of its underdeveloped communities. 53rd Annual Award Function and Convocation The ICD India Sri Lanka and Ne- pal Section Annual Convocation and Award Function was held on December 10, 2017, in New Delhi. The Dr. M.L. Soni Oration was de- livered by Dr. Satyavrat Arya on Orofacial pain. The Convocation and Award Function was inaugu- rated by the Secretary General Emeritus Dr. J.C. Chandna. Thirty- One new Fellows took the Oath and were inducted into the prestigious Section. Awards of Appreciation, Certificates of Merit and Student Plaques were presented to deserv- ing Fellows and students. Highlights of Scientific Ses- sions and Social Activities North Zone The ICD Section VI organised a one-day CDE Program at Lalit hotel with IDA Chandigarh State Branch. The speaker was Dr Y.K Virmani. The CDE was inaugurated by Dr. Rajiv Chugh, Secretary General Section VI, and 1st Vice President of I.D.A. (HO). The topic covered by Dr. Virmani was ‘Aesthetic material in Clinical Practice - A Different Ap- proach’.
