ICD Global, the umbrella organization responsible for the worldwide governance of the International College of Dentists (ICD), announced the appointment of its first Executive Director, Chelsea Segren. As the College’s strategic restructuring efforts to enhance operational efficiency begin earnestly, it is modernizing its systems while expanding its personnel. This appointment is part of these restructuring efforts, ultimately increasing engagement between ICD members and stakeholders and advancing the ICD mission.

During her decade with the ICD, Executive Director Segren, an Honorary Fellow of the College, has played a crucial role in numerous initiatives, including the worldwide membership and projects database and the philanthropic arm of the ICD, the Global Visionary Fund. Formerly the ICD Director of Operations, Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE). Her extensive experience in nonprofit management, communications, strategic development, and event planning will be invaluable in her new role.

“Chelsea has been a dynamic and innovative team member for over ten years. Her appointment as our first Executive Director is a testament to her exceptional abilities and our confidence in her potential to make a significant impact. We are excited to see her bring her vision and expertise to this pivotal role.”

As part of the reorganization plan, Crystal Demps has been promoted from Executive Assistant to Global Office Manager. Her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Michigan, Flint, and diverse skill set will be instrumental in the College’s continued growth.

The College’s greatest asset is its vast international network of leading dentists. ICD Global’s focus is to strengthen its resources, personnel, and systems to empower this network of dentists to collaborate more effectively and fully realize the actual value of Fellowship. Throughout the organization restructuring, the ICD remains steadfast in its mission of honoring outstanding dentists and facilitating global oral health initiatives.
