Two Guinness World Records Awarded to ICD Fellow and Family

ICD Section VI West Zone Regent Dr. Yogesh Chandarana, together with his son Dr. Pranav Chandarana and the Chandarana family, has earned two Guinness World Records for the Largest Collection of Toothbrushes and the Largest Display of Toothbrushes in the world.

A passionate collector since 1975, Dr. Chandarana transformed his lifelong fascination with dental history into Asia’s first private dental museum — the Dr. Chandarana Dental Museum. The museum now houses more than 7,000 dental-related artifacts, including matchbox labels, coins, stamps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, advertisements, sculptures, and even digital art.

His award-winning toothbrush collection — totaling 2,371 unique brushes spans over a century of innovation, from 1880s bone-handled models with badger-hair bristles to the first Broxodent Squibb electric toothbrush, GE’s first cordless model, and the modern Amabrush.

The museum also brings oral health education to life with the world’s first AR show on animal teeth, an animatronic talk show on oral health, and even an Animatronic Dental Orchestra, all designed to make learning about dentistry interactive and fun.

Free to visitors since its founding in 2016, the museum has already welcomed over 45,000 guests, and its achievements are also recognized in the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records
