The initiative was made possible through the generous support of Section I Past President and International Councilor Ira Titunik, who noted his hope is that “newly inducted Fellows, as well as Fellows throughout the world, will read The Globe, share it and keep it as a reminder of their connection to the worldwide College.”
Sections whose 2026 induction ceremonies have not yet taken place will receive copies in advance for presentation or distribution to their new Fellows. Sections that have already completed their ceremonies will also receive copies for their 2026 inductees, shipped to a central location designated by each Section.
While digital communication remains central to the College, the print edition offers something different: a lasting and tangible way to appreciate the ICD’s global reach, service, leadership, projects and people in one place.
The pilot project follows the highly successful digital launch of the new edition of The Globe in last month’s ICD Connect. That issue achieved the highest engagement rate of any ICD publication to date, while the digital edition of The Globe set a record of additional downloads and continues to attract new readers.
The response also provides encouraging evidence that the decision to publish ICD Connect monthly is strengthening interest in College communications. As the publication begins its second year on a monthly schedule, readership and engagement continue to grow.
The goal of the pilot program is to provide complimentary print copies of The Globe 2025 for all 2026 inductees and Section leadership worldwide. Because the program was launched in the middle of the year, Sections who were unable to provide their anticipated quantities early enough to be included fully in the initial printing estimate may not receive their full allocations in the first distribution. The College is exploring the possibility of a second print run, budget permitting, with the goal of extending distribution as broadly as possible and, ideally, fulfilling the remaining needs of all Sections. As this is a pilot program, distribution, demand, costs, and logistics are among the factors we will be evaluating as the program progresses.
Questions concerning the delivery of The Globe for your Section’s 2026 inductees should be directed to project coordinator and ICD Global Editor Dov Sydney.
