As part of the ongoing work plan for the Northwest Regency, the International College of Dentists (ICD) Section III Mexico holds free dental care events at the University Center of Health Education (CUES) on the Tijuana campus of the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. The initiative is in collaboration with the university’s Faculty of Dentistry and enjoys enthusiastic participation from both undergraduate and postgraduate students, particularly those specializing in paediatric dentistry.
Together, they provided vital dental care services while gaining valuable hands-on experience in community outreach.
This collaborative effort underscores ICD Mexico’s commitment to advancing oral health and fostering educational opportunities through real-world engagement.
The Txede de Maxei program offers care at the “Benjamín Moreno” Dentistry Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Querétaro, providing orthodontics, pediatric dentistry and pre-surgical orthopedics care to patients from various states. Its name comes from Otomí and means “smile of Querétaro”. Its mission is to promote comprehensive care for patients with craniofacial disorders and provide them with a better quality of life.
In the Txede de Maxei program, patients of all ages with mainly lip and cleft palate affections are treated, providing pre-surgical orthopedics to facilitate primary surgical repair and improve the aesthetic results of patients, as well as orthodontic treatments to treat malocclusions caused by skeletal defects, providing functionality, stability and aesthetics. The long-term goal is to expand the facilities and have equipment to provide free and timely care to patients with craniofacial malformations, improving their functions, aesthetics and granting positive psychosocial effects.
