The College is gaining prominence, attracting new partners and expanding collaborations within the global oral health community. However, our small team and limited systems have hindered the ability to keep pace with the growing opportunities. To address this challenge, ICD Global is prioritizing sustainability. This involves strengthening effective programs, setting aside resources for other initiatives, diversifying income sources, and enhancing member value through partnerships, increased visibility, and collaborative efforts.
Public-Private Partnerships
Our Fellowship network is our most valuable asset. By effectively sharing the impact of Fellows’ service, ICD can establish itself as a trusted partner to charities, companies, and governments. This year, we have secured new sponsorships and collaborations that demonstrate the potential of leveraging our influence to advance oral health.
Global Engagement and Brand Awareness
Despite representing the top one to two percent of dentists worldwide, our brand remains underutilized. To rectify this, we are encouraging Sections to consistently apply ICD’s core symbols, reinforcing the shared sense of belonging among our members.
Inclusive Collaboration
ICD is actively reviewing policies to enhance inclusivity in nominations, elections, and governance. These policy changes aim to broaden representation, improve conflict resolution, and strengthen leadership expectations. Additionally, officers are actively engaging with regional leaders to gain insights into local needs and concerns.
Streamlining Administration
Managing membership, finances, and communications has posed challenges across Sections. To address these issues, ICD Global is developing a digital platform that will connect Fellows worldwide in real time. This platform will enhance the Fellowship experience and open up new opportunities for collaboration.
