Changing Lives: Henry Schein and ICD Renew Partnership Delivering Care and Human Kindness

A meaningful partnership is built on a shared vision and sustained commitment to action. For nearly 15 years, the International College of Dentists and Henry Schein, Inc. have cultivated such a relationship, working together to advance the dental profession and improve oral health for communities around the world. This enduring collaboration is a testament to what can be achieved when two organizations align their capabilities with the needs of society.

This partnership is tracked by significant milestones of collaboration. Henry Schein served as the exclusive partner for the ICD’s centennial anniversary in 2020, celebrating a century of honoring the world’s leading dentists. The company has provided consistent support for the ICD’s Global Visionary Fund (GVF) since 2014, which fuels humanitarian and educational initiatives in vulnerable communities globally. The solid partnership also allowed the Henry Schein Cares Foundation and the GVF to respond promptly to critical needs by supplying millions of dollars’ worth of personal protective equipment to hundreds of health clinics and practices aiding individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Demonstrating their forward-looking commitment, Henry Schein recently renewed its partnership with the College, providing over $300,000 of financial and in-kind support over three years to support some of the College’s strategic priorities. This investment will directly enhance key initiatives, including the GVF humanitarian grant programs and development of the Global Oral Health Leadership Institute (GOHLI).

At the heart of this partnership is a deeply shared belief in the power of service. Stanley M. Bergman, Honorary ICD Fellow, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein, affirmed this connection, stating,

“Henry Schein greatly values our longstanding collaborative efforts with the ICD to make the world healthier. ICD’s dual focus on oral health leadership and humanitarian assistance is something that I appreciate, and we continue to enjoy a strong partnership in pursuit of our shared mission of addressing global oral health challenges and advancing the dental profession.”

From responding to global crises with critical supplies to investing in the future of the profession, the partnership between the ICD and Henry Schein continues to build a legacy of positive impact with care and compassion.
