A Shift in How the College Communicates
Since the launch of our inaugural monthly newsletter, ICD Connect, in August 2025, the College has fundamentally changed how it communicates with its Fellowship. Six months into this new model, the impact is clear: Fellows are more engaged, better informed and more closely connected to the College’s mission worldwide.
Top Grades Earned for Performance and Engagement
Performance data confirms that this approach is working. In January 2026, ICD communications reached a new benchmark. An independent email performance assessment awarded the College the overall highest “A+” rating, including A+ scores in every evaluated category. These results indicate that Fellows are not only receiving the content but actively engaging with it and finding it relevant.
Dr. Dov Sydney ICD Global Editor commented, “The transition from The College Today, our former biannual newsletter, to a monthly format was intentional. While The College Today was delivered digitally, its twice-yearly schedule limited the timeliness of updates. Moving to a monthly cadence allows the College to share humanitarian activity, leadership initiatives and Section-level work as it unfolds, rather than retrospectively. This shift reflects a deliberate move toward communication that matches the pace and scope of ICD’s global work.”
Communication Guided by Fellow Priorities
Our communication strategy is shaped by direct feedback from the Fellowship. Analysis of the 2025 survey shows that Fellows place the highest value on humanitarian projects, remain highly engaged as active volunteers and rely primarily on official ICD e-communications as their most trusted source of information. In response, ICD Connect consistently prioritizes humanitarian initiatives and stories of local impact, reinforcing the tangible ways Fellows contribute to the College’s mission.
An Integrated Communication Framework
ICD Connect functions as part of a coordinated communication framework. The Globe continues as the College’s flagship annual publication, providing in-depth leadership coverage and visual storytelling. The redesigned website, www.icd.org, serves as a centralized and accessible archive for news, programs and humanitarian resources. Together, these platforms ensure clarity, consistency and accessibility across all audiences.
Ongoing Participation and Contribution
The success of ICD Connect depends on Fellow participation. With each issue, we gain a clearer understanding of our global Fellowship and remain committed to highlighting professional achievement, leadership and service across all Sections. Fellows are encouraged to share project updates, stories and feedback to help refine and strengthen College communications.
