International Volunteerism
Two Core Values of the International College of Dentists are Humanitarianism and Education. Fellows of the College lead, participate in and implement humanitarian missions in developing communities worldwide to foster measures for the prevention and treatment of oral disease, as well as provide dental education and measures for sustainable oral health. ICD Fellows are on the ground assisting, learning and educating, through their leadership and expertise, while leaving a lasting impact on the populations they serve.
The ICD commends its Fellows in their humanitarian efforts and believes it equally important to share their stories, experiences and best practices with other Fellow dentists across the globe so that knowledge can be transferred to others interested in international volunteerism. International volunteerism is the heart of the College, and this page has been created to share important and useful resources on best practices for participating in and leading humanitarian missions around the world. The resources on this page are created by ICD Sections and Fellows with expertise and experience in international volunteerism, and they are not necessarily regarded to be the views of the International College of Dentists. The College, its officers, employees and volunteers, accept no liability or responsibility for the consequences for any inaccurate or misleading information.
