This effort in particular benefited children and patients in Uganda. During the week-long mission, ICD Fellow and local dentist Dr. Eroni Jjunju, SALCET Chairman Dr. Chris Jagger and the SALCET medical mission team provided care to more than 60 patients from March 19-26, 2019. The collaborative team also facilitated patient education sessions on oral hygiene and oral health, highlighting valuable instructions in toothbrush use that will equip patients with beneficial knowledge to last long after the mission. The Mata Dental Clinic, where Dr. Jjunju serves as a dentist in Uganda, conducts ongoing outreach programs in the community, schools and in other projects as a way to increase their reach to pa-tients in need. About 3,500 patients benefit annually from these efforts. SALCET was established in 2005 in response to the emergency and long-term rehabilitation needs of children damaged by earthquakes and other natural disasters.READ MORE18 J OURNAL OF THEI NTERNATIONALC OLLEGE OFD ENTISTS'
